gift yourself the opportunity for regular artistic enrichment & community via
aligned artists accountability (a^3)
the why
for most of my life, my art was something i did privately being my processing & coping mechanism for my life & the world.
it felt too intimate to share, and because i wasn’t formally trained, i felt as though i didn’t earn the identity of an artist.
years later, in college, i took “arts & entrepreneurship,” … twice. both times, i read the artist’s way by julia cameron- but just couldn’t finish the tasks.
it was the same cycle i repeated for years; all those abandoned “draw-tober” challenges, “nanowriomo” drafts, diaries with 7 entries, and 1/2 finished sketchbooks.
however, after reading her work, i found myself getting back to who i’ve always been.
i began finishing sketchbooks, finishing notebooks, pouring in everything from poetry, prose, to letters, to doodles, to paintings, scripting, prayers, sticky-note panel comics, dream notes, & more.
cataloging all of these and all my childhood pieces, showed me the lifelong body of work that confirmed what i had refused to see. i have always been an artist.
as i began to shift my self-perception, i did begin to share more of my original work, which is when i realized that art is not fulfilled by being hoarded.
art is birthed to be shared, and art-making in community can be a truly enriching experience.
this is why i created A^3, a community for artists of all media & levels to encourage each other as we connect & create together.
our monthly events
Free 4 All
This is our once a month free event open to all artists! Timing and capacity varies upon venue (plan for 1.5-2HRs, & generally I have from 5-15 spots open), but all are welcome!
In this event, you will receive sound healing, a brief yoga flow, free time to create (BYO supplies; whether it’s materials for a project you’re working on, or materials to play around with), some journaling prompts, & time to network with other conscious creatives.
If we’re meeting outside, it’s BYO food (bringing some to share/potlock style is not mandatory, but is encouraged).
If we are meeting at a cafe and staff is available drinks &/or food should be available for purchase (note; there will not be cover- but budget for some food & tips for the staff, as our events will be falling out of their usual hours)
Extended Exploration (E^2)
This is our second offering per month, a longer workshop (2-3HRS), where we’ll have all the activities in the Free 4 All, and a masterclass; taught by a guest artist!
We have a per-event fee (variable depending on supplies needed per participant, guest artist honorariums, & possible venue fees).
i also offer have flat-rate passes for the season (covers 3 E^2 events), 6 months (6 E^2 Events) or yearly passes (12 E^3 events)- and different passes are included in our membership tiers (think of it like club dues).
